The 4 models afte being in service a couple of months. From all of the pictures I have seen of 82 class they are rarely filthy. They generally have dust on the roof and around the bogies.</div>

Man have the last 6 months been busy! Due to work being so crazy lately it has obviously affected my modelling pursuits and as such the layout has suffered. Below is about the only progress that has been made due to my lack of spare time whilst at home.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiRPL2dVPuXpk-627AEMTMrv5VbaZuwuwUmQD1Tqni7zB7gNl6y4IB4-N80MwQd1kpPx2eG3bukL3ElAdqXRi5b130bfr2wWf_YDcOyaHyIo-c7JtKwnzYJEvwON00WORA5FgaipO7bgkF5/s1600/1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" closure_lm_766197="null" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiRPL2dVPuXpk-627AEMTMrv5VbaZuwuwUmQD1Tqni7zB7gNl6y4IB4-N80MwQd1kpPx2eG3bukL3ElAdqXRi5b130bfr2wWf_YDcOyaHyIo-c7JtKwnzYJEvwON00WORA5FgaipO7bgkF5/s320/1.jpg" width="320" zsa="true" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I decided to get a bit more of my scenery completed.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This time it was a cutting through some stone.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgn4SelQrkJXTMXXVglcYg0v-WaBKiEG-2Dylo-99vmiTBhepyy70W4iV2TF76zxAy5yAshAulRgfsvRtqpMSXQfcH7LdxMptjVUvQQKYEzX4yRo-GFp2L-dgOZUMyKLmPxhKpAlKoMFRCG/s1600/2.2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" closure_lm_766197="null" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgn4SelQrkJXTMXXVglcYg0v-WaBKiEG-2Dylo-99vmiTBhepyy70W4iV2TF76zxAy5yAshAulRgfsvRtqpMSXQfcH7LdxMptjVUvQQKYEzX4yRo-GFp2L-dgOZUMyKLmPxhKpAlKoMFRCG/s320/2.2.jpg" width="320" zsa="true" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The above stones were cast with plaster cast from Woodlands Scenics rock moulds.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjKKZGt6AOhm4Bm9RCHs22BzVaVcrInIIvxpF90Ml10kVbxUDmDjRknh9dUdxY2VNvxbqH7IUtRc9MfX0q6WeAaK3Lcpy0b-yjRb-bVoPgoDhfpHUdna5vRtzqul7hFAxRakWhk3jzLEfWJ/s1600/2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" closure_lm_766197="null" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjKKZGt6AOhm4Bm9RCHs22BzVaVcrInIIvxpF90Ml10kVbxUDmDjRknh9dUdxY2VNvxbqH7IUtRc9MfX0q6WeAaK3Lcpy0b-yjRb-bVoPgoDhfpHUdna5vRtzqul7hFAxRakWhk3jzLEfWJ/s320/2.jpg" width="320" zsa="true" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
After shaping the polystyrene, it was coated with plaster cloth.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhjkO_9OWGGe3Ql0r2vQB8QVeJYe7oPiveXE-wqc7620XLLt-bQomQWZmSG4rIjwR0zTm48HzJgF4bGapnS41KMKG9d67r94UMFXlpwalOcyqNx3M4WMQ9kX3zrH241Qc4BgIELsrUc_kuF/s1600/3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" closure_lm_766197="null" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhjkO_9OWGGe3Ql0r2vQB8QVeJYe7oPiveXE-wqc7620XLLt-bQomQWZmSG4rIjwR0zTm48HzJgF4bGapnS41KMKG9d67r94UMFXlpwalOcyqNx3M4WMQ9kX3zrH241Qc4BgIELsrUc_kuF/s320/3.jpg" width="320" zsa="true" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Next the precast rocks were attached to the plaster cast with extra plaster.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhJi1H8esDDTas2LxRfbSN4-Ss5tbngkfLpYEvPSZH2OSnie58CXJ8ZMSJ8K96mmLBRxbRlb_vcJ-oKvo8BCJFztETqsxWSUuirKRELaSHZWMRixbrf5CTnGQB3w5cA468MBsGOnLl57C5D/s1600/4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" closure_lm_766197="null" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhJi1H8esDDTas2LxRfbSN4-Ss5tbngkfLpYEvPSZH2OSnie58CXJ8ZMSJ8K96mmLBRxbRlb_vcJ-oKvo8BCJFztETqsxWSUuirKRELaSHZWMRixbrf5CTnGQB3w5cA468MBsGOnLl57C5D/s320/4.jpg" width="320" zsa="true" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Then they were painted flat black all over.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEin2GwhT9X0o0cUbGJu02GuGoEgqY3O0dHyhQbefP4hLjqdzpzoXf0C_ISY6Rl-AN4e7m1r8Ve9d-O4HhftJIWHxVO9l0wRk7PJnRQwOs3O6crh8CyxFSmQ4pfLX0HYUH6pabcFXZrD0BdC/s1600/5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" closure_lm_766197="null" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEin2GwhT9X0o0cUbGJu02GuGoEgqY3O0dHyhQbefP4hLjqdzpzoXf0C_ISY6Rl-AN4e7m1r8Ve9d-O4HhftJIWHxVO9l0wRk7PJnRQwOs3O6crh8CyxFSmQ4pfLX0HYUH6pabcFXZrD0BdC/s320/5.jpg" width="320" zsa="true" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Then washed with a diluted grey, not as diluted as water but quite runny so it would only sit in the cracks.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj8k2vboHbN03_sQkY5kW-1ghRbrMR-JfMZ8e0mVoagIfy2Dsud1CpZsnn45rW3oTPrc2KpA2bvO_dVHM_np-LE-xOWS_F-X1TynMzfBOiF197YZxB0NCVv-VijzJ9pI3DTxKzGaePKAgYr/s1600/6.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" closure_lm_766197="null" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj8k2vboHbN03_sQkY5kW-1ghRbrMR-JfMZ8e0mVoagIfy2Dsud1CpZsnn45rW3oTPrc2KpA2bvO_dVHM_np-LE-xOWS_F-X1TynMzfBOiF197YZxB0NCVv-VijzJ9pI3DTxKzGaePKAgYr/s320/6.jpg" width="320" zsa="true" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This process was repeated several times untill I was happy with the result.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
At this stage it has had some light brown dry brushed into areas to break up the colour a little.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjVsA158EK2EBy31tFDan_C3Gc8JPVbjRb_h9TcxSqhrMZM8z0a4xk5REkD3qDMckGCCCP9JEJ4j1mNGTd57-U8rxDbTNFGNHKMfu-1bfdfNbknW_WtxLa-erZYGYl7Pvd4DLoCauCnxN5G/s1600/7.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" closure_lm_766197="null" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjVsA158EK2EBy31tFDan_C3Gc8JPVbjRb_h9TcxSqhrMZM8z0a4xk5REkD3qDMckGCCCP9JEJ4j1mNGTd57-U8rxDbTNFGNHKMfu-1bfdfNbknW_WtxLa-erZYGYl7Pvd4DLoCauCnxN5G/s320/7.jpg" width="320" zsa="true" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The finished result.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhqI7YtVTyHlUGehRF0tEWPE7VneXgHwM9t_eCis4CWsgCl4n3Yj7tDfJwtVhlCwYVhUVSpghzAfdiTSXlVUNfjyy0_RamPUrVwtSfMUsUjwrrk8rwD3VPAn1AH9cwyUBT6qjwqht3VZG3F/s1600/8.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" closure_lm_766197="null" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhqI7YtVTyHlUGehRF0tEWPE7VneXgHwM9t_eCis4CWsgCl4n3Yj7tDfJwtVhlCwYVhUVSpghzAfdiTSXlVUNfjyy0_RamPUrVwtSfMUsUjwrrk8rwD3VPAn1AH9cwyUBT6qjwqht3VZG3F/s320/8.jpg" width="320" zsa="true" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Add a bit of dirt, some bushes, rocks and trees to complete the scene.</div>

Another rant on scenery I know but hopefully his one will save you a bit more cash. I did some searching and trials on how to make my own grass tufts instead of buying the ones that cost as much as 3 bags of static grass. Below is the method I have found to be useful so far, but it could be improved on as time goes by. You could alternatively do it in place, you would need a good bag less vacuum to reclaim the excess static grass for a second use. The only problem is you will probably pull up other scenery flock and have a mixture of grass and flock.... </h3>

Just like everyone else that models an Australian rural scene you need gum trees, lots and lots of gum trees. So me being one who is hard pressed for time and impatient to see a scene come to life rapidly, I didn't want to have to make the trees individually. So laziness being the mother of all invention a light bulb sparked in my head! Buy some of those crappy trees from eBay and try to dress them up like a gum tree using the same methods as twisted wire and no more gaps.</h4>

Step 1 was to mix up a batch of Selleys no more gaps with a grey paint. Try not to mix in the grey consistently as you want a little of the white to come through in the final colour.</div>

The last step was to add a lighter colour of foliage to the original foliage supplied with the tree. I used a Selleys spray on adhesive and then lightly sprinkled on a fine foliage from Noch. I wanted to leave the original dark colour for depth, you could however paint it a different colour. This would have to be done prior to painting the bark, otherwise you'll have green bark!</div>

I had purchased some more static grass at the start of the year and due to me never being home of late have not had a chance to give it a try.... until now!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhArJUscmSj2YQgfKQ3Vdcqxde92n6HW2E9pph7PMAlBAJElLNvZ4SF-uYmpsMnOtOulgMc0CH7gSRoFDgTuDcNQ33yARt_V-AcZk7eK-lZ5WDJ9guDA_yffiK3Omq5Ea0xhhZgLXCZrW0R/s1600/1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="239" psa="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhArJUscmSj2YQgfKQ3Vdcqxde92n6HW2E9pph7PMAlBAJElLNvZ4SF-uYmpsMnOtOulgMc0CH7gSRoFDgTuDcNQ33yARt_V-AcZk7eK-lZ5WDJ9guDA_yffiK3Omq5Ea0xhhZgLXCZrW0R/s320/1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I wanted to do it a little differently to the first attempt as I thought the grass I had used looked too green. The grass I purchased this time was a lot dryer looking, and I wanted the green to only look like short grass under growth. I used a sieved HEKI brand flock glued to the dirt for a start.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjau2QSq6XQfkVahx-VNwzAypCG1vrZ03ssA404CnE1CNBpzV5AAs5cVBW5ynsopWjzOlKKQXLzcZwN3S8Lunzu7OvDuHeLEOOK_2vg_DWrj3CAnrHdIeOWDIVvU58HmYnzTOhn24zM5o2O/s1600/2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="239" psa="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjau2QSq6XQfkVahx-VNwzAypCG1vrZ03ssA404CnE1CNBpzV5AAs5cVBW5ynsopWjzOlKKQXLzcZwN3S8Lunzu7OvDuHeLEOOK_2vg_DWrj3CAnrHdIeOWDIVvU58HmYnzTOhn24zM5o2O/s320/2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Then applied the static grass over the green flock.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The grass is a mixture of 4 and 6 mm long fibres to give an uneven looking growth.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The 4 mm fills in the holes quite well. Again I have glued yellow flower clumps to the top for some weeds.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj2CSdPrAaVax3x6YG1mAXRdzWoA3Dtjmzjiu2af16YqchddbD6TVzyNy2an7dZ6XaBjctDgvOMm2mJ1CUC3H0GN6XPDkvTHSx65ddnG6EwrddBf8xKpllk-4JsBK-BiC-1IyMG_Y1qhyT8/s1600/3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="206" psa="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj2CSdPrAaVax3x6YG1mAXRdzWoA3Dtjmzjiu2af16YqchddbD6TVzyNy2an7dZ6XaBjctDgvOMm2mJ1CUC3H0GN6XPDkvTHSx65ddnG6EwrddBf8xKpllk-4JsBK-BiC-1IyMG_Y1qhyT8/s320/3.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div align="center">
I wanted to have tall green grass along creek bed. This was achieved by using the Woodlands Scenic fibres that are about 80mm long. I trimmed them to a length that I was happy with and applied a seam of white glue along the areas of the creek bank where I wanted the tall grass.</div>
<div align="center">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div align="center">
A near finished scene, just awaiting on some trees and then I will also add a few other bits and pieces. Perhaps some animals, powerpoles, logs, rocks, etc.</div>

<div align="center">
The wheel tracks were made by waiting for the glue to dry, then with a small stiff paint brush wiping the fibres back off the scene. I will probably do this in other areas as again I am not happy with the grass having a consistent height. I will also add some clumps of grass to break up the evenness of the grass. </div>

Final shot.</div>
<div align="center">
Hopefully I will have a bit of time at home over Easter to get some more completed as the scenery is really bringing the layout to life. It's helping with the motivation as I can now see a semi finished product, plus it's nicer to watch a train crawl trough a scene than polystyrene!</div>

As I am a lover of tankers, I decided to purchase a couple of SDS tankers at the Armidale Convention from Gwyder Valley Models. They are a very nice model indeed, well detailed and a fair price. The only down fall to them I believe is that they are too light and clean!!!</div>

Now to the weathering. I referred to photos of a tanker in the 80's, as that's the era I model.<br />Firstly, I airbrushed on some grimey black.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;">
Next was to dry brush some rust around the tank straps and bogie springs.</div>
<div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; text-align: center;">
Then airbrush on some more rust on the main tank area.</div>

<div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;">
Then using some gloss black, I brushed on some oil/spill marks around the fill are of the domes.</div>
<div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;">
Then of course spray the model with Dull coat to seal and tone down the rust. </div>

<strong>I have been doing quite a few decoder installs lately, with the decoder of choice being the Tsunami AT1000. These are great decoders and easy to install. However they can be a bit long and make the job harder when it comes to finding space for them in the loco. One problem I have now encountered on 3 different decoders is a power drop in and out. The symptoms are, during the loco running it will stop and start constantly as though you have dirty wheels. After a long process of fault finding and trying new things I finally sent the thing back to Soundtraxx. They repaired the first one under warranty, however there are terms and conditions to that. They informed me there was a soldering joint issue. 2 months later I helped a friend with an install to a 44 class. Again the same problem, so I tried another decoder I had to see if it was OK, again for a third time the same problem. So I contacted Soundtraxx to see what this soldering fix may be and if I could do this myself? After a detailed email explaining the solution I decided to send them both back for repair as I attempt it at my own peril. A friend sent me an email from rail page the other day with someone having what sounded like the same problem, so I thought I would give you all the solution as it seems to be a reoccurring problem.</strong></div>

<strong>The black arrow shows the resistor which is the issue. If this resistor is not sitting completely flat this is the cause. On mine one was sitting proud less than 1mm on one end, the second was completely vertical! Keep in mind Soundtraxx will repair free under warranty ($25 shipping!!) or you can have a go yourself, but unless you are extremely good at soldering and have a steady hand don't do it!</strong></div>

<strong>Another problem I had the other day was a short in the loco.... This loco had been working fault free for months then all of a sudden was creating a short circuit. Upon removal of the body this is what I faced. The front pickup wires had melted together! I'm not sure what caused this but it was an easy fix, just replace the pick ups and your away. </strong></div>

So I have purchased one of those static grass applicators from eBay.....</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Below are the results. The guy I purchased it from was Aussie Scenics, it was $40 with free post. It uses 2 D cell batteries which makes it very portable. It was easy to use and it gave me a couple of tickles when I wasn't paying atttention. Oh and read the instructions, because when it says to short the dispenser with the ground pin after use, do so cause the shit of a thing strores a pretty good charge, even when the batteries are removed!</div>

Iwas gifted a couple of BCW's from a mate after he purchased some Eureka ones. I didn't feel like spending the time on them to get them operational as I have a pack myself and there is no need for any more. I decided to put one to use as lineside detail.... but I had no pictures or immedate thoughts.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
After reading <a href="http://southernline.blogspot.com.au/2012/09/what-to-do-with-those-old-wagons.html">Rod's</a> post on "What to do with those old wagons?" Some pictures were borrowed (hope that's OK Rob?) and the idea I was formed! Because this will eventually end up on my layout I decided to deviate from the pictures on Rod's Blog in regards to the scenery and chose my own path.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
Again prior to construction.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I had another plan in mind. Since I accidently glued down my show and tell plan for the Armidale convention, I decided to make a diaorama. This way when the convention is over I can fit it in place on my layout where the scenery has not yet been started.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

The Diaorama as of this evening. I thought it might be best not to show you the completed project.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
That way if you go to the convention it won't be as nice. </div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
Last minute changes saw me add this small section of handlaid track. I thought I should add some rails, it looks nice and adds to the scene. Unfortunatly It will be pulled up when added to the layout.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The other problem now is that I am so happy with the handlaid track I now want it for my layout.....SHIT! Perhaps one day??</div>

You may recall a few blogs back that I had built a Timber road overpass out of Styrene. Well Mark 1 sold to a friend, Mark 2 went to eBay and Mark 3 made it to the layout. Below are a few shots of the installation of the bridge, of course it is not completed, I haven't put up a post in 6 months so I thought I had better come up with something.....</div>

As I said in the last post I was a little unhappy with the colour of these structures. So I decided to give them a dry brush with some grey to tone them down a bit. Here is the end result.</div>
<br />
<div align="center">
</div>
<br />
<div align="center">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgsNBgLlxjxdcSGbo5X62QA5LeA72EotTtPOnYtDHFviyQETgDdBY2Rsnw66DB4D0jRgma74IfmpW8aLFeEW7kh1hJZmzzFZfwJg-IZ-D8OLHYhuGLT51SsjbmF2330-5PkO8E_QGLzttZ2/s1600/1b.jpg"><img alt="" border="0" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5725188939105862578" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgsNBgLlxjxdcSGbo5X62QA5LeA72EotTtPOnYtDHFviyQETgDdBY2Rsnw66DB4D0jRgma74IfmpW8aLFeEW7kh1hJZmzzFZfwJg-IZ-D8OLHYhuGLT51SsjbmF2330-5PkO8E_QGLzttZ2/s320/1b.jpg" style="cursor: hand; display: block; height: 239px; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; width: 320px;" /></a> </div>
<br />
<div align="center">
I think the bridge looks a little more <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0">weathered</span> in the timber now.<br />
<br /></div>
<br />

<br />
<div>
The yards now look no where near as dark as they were in the last post.</div>
<br />

<br />
<div>
Something extra, these cattle grids were measured at "<span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1">Bungulla" </span>and made from styrene. This won't be their final location, it was just a good spot for a photo.<br />

You will notice that the one on the <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_3" class="blsp-spelling-corrected">left</span> has rail where the one on the right has timber poles. Well I didn't know you could get non structural timber (35x75x2410) for $3 a length. The visit ended with me purchasing 25 <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_0" class="blsp-spelling-error">lengths</span> of timber, 3 packing sheets of <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_1" class="blsp-spelling-error">MDF</span> ($5 each) and a nail gun. Below is the end result of working a couple of hours each night after work. I guess you could say I got a little excited as the bench work was up within the first week. I also found that using the nail gun instead of screws sped up the process <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_2" class="blsp-spelling-corrected">massively</span>.</div><br /><div align="center"></div><br /><div align="center">The layout has no track plan at this stage, just ideas of what I like about <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_3" class="blsp-spelling-corrected">branch lines</span>. Being that it is based on a branch line code 75 <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_4" class="blsp-spelling-error">Peco</span> will be used. To better represent a branch line I will pop out a few sleepers here and there, and try not to lay it too straight. </div><br /><div align="center"></div><br /><div align="center">The decision to use <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_5" class="blsp-spelling-error">peco</span> over hand laid was easy as I have a friend doing hand laid and it is taking far too long to get operational and the points can be a little unreliable, also I want to enjoy my layout before I die. I love the look of hand laid track but the time saved on track work can be put into the scenery and if I put enough work into the scenery no one will notice the track.</div><br /><div align="center"></div><br /><div align="center">The track will have grades in it and be roughly laid as a branch line would be. So the idea is to put the ply down on the base trace out where the track will be and cut out with a jigsaw.
